Register your GmbH as an economic operator in the EU Digital Product Passport Registry

A step-by-step walkthrough that separates what you prepare in Germany from what you execute on the EU platform — so nothing is attempted out of order.

Who this coach is for

Any company that must place products with a Digital Product Passport on the EU market and therefore needs a registry account. This first edition is written for a GmbH registered in a German Handelsregister.

Why national preparation comes first

The EU-level registration itself takes less than an hour — if every input it asks for already exists. Each input is created outside the platform, in Germany, and some take weeks to obtain. Preparing them first is what makes the execution phase succeed on the first attempt.

Track A

Preparation · national level

Done with German providers and authorities, in your own time. Each result is a prerequisite for the EU platform.

  1. 1Set up a valid, working EU Login
  2. 2Build a working qualified electronic seal infrastructure
  3. 3Gather all company information for the forms
Track B

Execution · EU level

Done on the EU Digital Product Passport Registry platform, in one sitting, strictly in this order.

  1. 1Log in with your EU Login
  2. 2Fill in the online form and download the declaration PDF
  3. 3Apply the qualified seal to the declaration
  4. 4Upload the sealed PDF and complete verification
